Tthis book is for everyone who suffers from nervous system stress or overwhelm. Settling combines neurobiology, body awareness, and ancient therapeutic practices to help you calm yourself at any moment, in almost any situation. Available spring 2009.

Settling is written in simple language, has many illustrations and is divided into in four sections:

• Section 1 - Getting Acquainted. Gives you an overview of the notion of settling, a brief description of the nervous system, and my experience of learning to settle my own nervous system.
• Section 2 - Skills for Settling Yourself. First you’ll learn a set of basic skills that help you to be present and to be aware of your body. Then you’ll learn over a dozen exercises to help you discharge excess energy from your nervous system and slow it down. Finally, you’ll learn ways to stay settled in every day situations, such as driving a car, flying on an airplane or being at work.
• Section 3 - Settling with Others. Here you’ll learn ways to help others settle and to be helped in turn. This includes many simple and effective touch therapy skills, especially designed for settling the nervous system. You’ll also learn how to settle in difficult relational situations at home and at work, and how to improve the quality of relationships through settling. There is a special section for helping moms and dads settle with their newborn babies to achieve secure bonding and attachment.
• Section 4 - Additional Care. Gives valuable strategies for settling in the complexity and speed of modern living. Includes a referral guide to help you find body-based professional care in touch therapy, trauma therapy, movement therapy and psychotherapy.
